Christof Migone, artiste multidisciplinaire vivant à Montréal, est l'auteur de nombreuses performances et installations présentées dans des lieux et dans le cadre d'évènements tels que Beyond Music Sound Festival (Los Angeles), kaaistudios (Brussels), Resonance FM (London), Nouvelles Scènes (Dijon), On the Air (Innsbruck), Ménagerie de Verre (Paris), Experimental Intermedia (NYC), Méduse (Québec), Victoriaville Festival, Banff Center, Rotterdam Film Festival, etc. Titulaire d'une maîtrise en beaux-arts du Nova Scotia College of Art & Design, il poursuit actuellement un doctorat au Department of Performance Studies de la New York University. II est co-rédacteur en chef de Writing Aloud: The Sonics of Language, et ses textes ont été publiés dans Aural Cultures, S:ON, Musicworks, Semiotext(e), Radio Rethink, Parachute, Angelaki, etc. Il a récemment publié son premier livre, la première phrase et le dernier mot, chez l'éditeur montréalais Le Quartanier. Christof Migone a aussi collaboré avec de nombreux artistes, dont Lynda Gaudreau, Tammy Forsythe, Gregory Whitehead, Martin Tétreault, Alexandre St-Onge et Michel F. Côté. Ce membre fondateur d'Avatar à Québec a en outre réalisé six disques compacts solo (Avatar, ND, Alien 8, Locust, Oral). En 2005, l'éditeur Errant Bodies Press publia un monographe sur son travail : Christof Migone - Sound

Christof Migone is a multidisciplinary artist and writer. His work and research delves into language, voice, bodies, psychopathology, performance, video, intimacy, complicity, endurance. He co-edited the book and CD Writing Aloud: The Sonics of Language (Los Angeles: Errant Bodies Press, 2001) and his writings have been published in Aural Cultures, S:ON, Experimental Sound & Radio, Musicworks, Radio Rethink, Semiotext(e), Angelaki, etc. He obtained an MFA from NSCAD in 1996 and is currently a PhD (ABD) candidate at the Department of Performance Studies at the Tisch School of the Arts of New York University. He has released six solo audio cds on various labels (Avatar, ND, Alien 8, Locust, Oral). He has curated a number of events in the sound and radio arts: Touch that Dial (1990), Radio Contortions (1991), Rappel (1994), Double Site (1998), tuttermouthface (2002). He has performed at Beyond Music Sound Festival (Los Angeles), kaaistudios (Brussels), Resonance FM (London), Nouvelles Scènes (Dijon), On the Air (Innsbruck), Ménagerie de Verre (Paris), Experimental Intermedia (NYC), Méduse (Québec), Victoriaville Festival, and in Montreal at Radio Canada, Quinzaine de la Voix, Musiques Fragiles, Galerie Oboro, Casa del Popolo, Thé‰tre La Chapelle, etc. His installations have been exhibited at the Banff Center, Rotterdam Film Festival, Gallery 101, Art Lab, eyelevelgallery, Forest City Gallery, Studio 5 Beekman. He has collaborated with Lynda Gaudreau, Martin Tétreault, Tammy Forsythe, Alexandre St-Onge, Michel F. Côté, Gregory Whitehead, Set Fire To Flames, and Fly Pan Am. A monograph on his work, Christof Migone - Sound Voice Perform, was published in 2005. He currently lives in Montréal and teaches at Concordia University.


Feu Thérèse (cstrecords.com)
Feu Therese formed in 2005, in the wake of Fly Pan Am’s indefinite hiatus, and includes FPA guitarist and performance artist Jonathan Parant. Together with prolific experimental musician Alexandre St-Onge (bass, electronics), Stephen De Oliveira (keyboards, electronics, guitar) and Luc Paradis (drums), the band put on a series of explosive live shows through 2005 and recorded their debut record towards the end of that year. Jonathan Parant is a guitarist and founding member of Fly Pan Am, with four records on Constellation. He has released a solo record on Squintfucker Press and orchestrates various sound and performance art happenings around town. He helps run the Sala Rossa concert venue in Montreal.
Alexandre St-Onge is a bass player, electronic musician and performance artist. He has been involved in innumerable bands and projects in Montreal over the last decade, including Undo (with Christof Migone), The Shalabi Effect, Et Sans and Klaxon Gueule. He has released four solo records, on labels including Squintfucker Press, Namskeio Records and Alien8Recordings. He has toured extensively around the world, in various bands and as a solo artist. Stephen De Oliveira is a sound artist, soundtrack composer for B-movies and documentaries, and graduate of the electro-acoustic program at Universite de Montreal. He also works with multi-media installations. His latest opus, one-year-old daughter Camille, is a co-production. He also has twelve birds. Luc Paradis is a visual artist, painter, illustrator, drummer and dishwasher. He has shown paintings drawings in several group and solo shows, contributed to artwork for records by Silver Mt. Zion and Diebold and has been involved with the Heavyweight street art crew in Montreal. Feu Therese is his first recording.


JEAN-LOUIS COSTES & LISOU PROUT (costes.org)
Véritable
référence dans l’underground depuis maintenant 15 ans, certains considèrent Jean-Louis Costes comme un mélange français de GG Allin et
Wesley Willis.
Costes est un artiste performer français accompagné cette fois-ci par la chanteuse hystérique rock Lisou Prout. Il crée habituellement seul ses chansons de la manières la plus « lo-fi » possible avec de l’équipement électronique trafiqué. Sa "pop déconstruite qui s'écroule" oscillant entre mélodies et bruitismesavent désensibiliser nos sens de la musique commerciale trop souvent neuroleptique. Évoquant parfois des thèmes politiques, religieux, sociaux, scatologiques, etc., les paroles de ses chansons ont pour but de déranger et de remettre en cause notre grille d’analyse culturelle moderne. La scène est pour lui un lieu de défoulement total où il présente des opéras porno sociaux, sorte de comédies musicales
paroxystiques, « trash » et violentes qui nous jettent à la figure nos obsessions et tabous sociaux. Ses performances absurdes et grotesques qui caricaturent les comportements sociaux les plus débiles forme l’essentiel de son art subversif et sans concession. À cause de cette manière de faire brutale et absurde, certains comparent ses spectacles à des séances de psychanalyse collective ayant justement pour but la remise en question personnelle, culturelle et sociale. Durant ses spectacles, les agissements absurdes de Costes peuvent s’apparenter au concept freudien de la libre association appliqué au théâtre à travers l’improvisation. Voir quelqu’un agir de la sorte amène forcément les gens à faire face aux refoulements de leur propre subconscient. Les réactions peuvent être les mêmes que lors d’une
séance de psychanalyse normale ce qui en dit long sur l’ouverture d’esprit et la connaissance de soi-même.

Il a à son actif plus de 35 disques, des dizaines de cassettes audio ainsi qu'une vingtaine de tournés d'opéras joués en Europe, en Amérique du nord et au Japon. Parallèlement, il a réalisé cinq longs métrages et une vingtaine de courts-métrages. Son premier roman, « Viva la merda », a été publié en 2003 par les éditions Hermaphrodite. Il a également rédigé un essai « Mon grand-père immigré raciste anti-français » publié chez HACHE qu’il a ensuite repris afin de créer le roman « Grand-père » paru chez Fayard en 2006. De plus, il participe sporadiquement à certaines émissions télévisuelles françaises.
