PostSubject: Loss: helping one of our own...   Sun 1 Jun - 14:44

Originally posted on http://not-eurotic.livejournal.com/1215915.html , the LiveJournal of Matt Fanale, also known as Caustic ( www.tellmeaboutmyuterus.com ):

Quote :

Last week a good pal, Dan Fox, aka LOSS ( http://www.myspace.com/ikilleverything ) to those in the music community, literally lost everything he owned in an apartment building fire on Monday, May 19th. Luckily he and his girlfriend were not in their apartment as they were on vacation, and their cats were being looked after elsewhere, but all of their possessions, including all of Dan's gear for making Loss' incredible music, were destroyed.

Info on it is here:

We wanted to make sure this was okay with Dan for us to do this (nobody wants to ask for help like this, and Dan's a quiet fella, unlike, well, me), hence why the information is coming out a week after the tragedy, but a group of us are trying to get the word out for anyone that may want to donate some money to Dan to help get him back on his feet. Even a couple bucks from a couple generous souls adds up, so if you're able to give a little please do. Even if you don't know Dan there's a good chance you probably know someone who does (especially on the East Coast), so look at it as helping a friend of a friend. Hell, you know me, so that's hopefully enough.Smile

Donations can be made via PAYPAL at http://www.innerdemonsrecords.com/help/

There's also an address for money orders to be sent as well.

I met Dan in 2005 at the Providence Noise Fest and was blown away by not only his music (which was in all honesty a highlight of the fest to me), but also by what a damn good guy he is. I'm proud to call him a friend and hope you'll help spread the word about he and his girlfriend's devastating situation and help if you can.

Also, we're trying to collect gear for him as well, so if you're interested in seeing a list of what he lost (or at least part of it, as the list I have is at least a year or two old), please let me know by emailing me at eurotic@NOSPAMgmail.com. And, of course, take out the darn NOSPAM.

Thanks so much.

-Matt
Caustic,
Owner of one of the few "DAN DOESN'T HATE ME" pins:)

Nothing much to add to Matt's words. I came to know Dan via his music in ("A Letter That Will Never Be Sent") and have been in touch with him on and off. I finally got to meet him a couple of months ago at Elektroanschlag where I finally saw him perform live in a couple of excellent sets. There he told me of the future plans for his Inner Demons label and music he was working on, plans that I suppose have now been unfortunaly put on indefinite hold after this disaster.

Please spread the word and, if you can spare some resources, help a mate in need.

Oh god..that is really sad to read!

I also met Dan at the noisefest for the first and only time and he was just amazing!

An amazing guy and an amazing musician!

He came to me after our set to tell me that he was blown away by our performance....

He just made my day!

I'll try to help!

No, that's another reason why this whole thing's pretty disastrous. :-/
